Accountability
Data-driven comparison pages built from Home Office, HMICFRS and IOPC statistics. Open Government Licence v3.
UK policing is overseen by a triangle of independent bodies — His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS), the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), and the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for each force area. Each publishes data, reports and inspection findings under the Open Government Licence v3.0; together they make every force's operational and ethical performance traceable.
BlueLineHub publishes these pages because the underlying data is already public — it's just scattered across half a dozen government sites. Putting it in one place, with consistent attribution and licence declarations, makes it actually usable when an officer or applicant is deciding between forces, or when the public wants to scrutinise their local force. We summarise and link; we do not mirror reports in full, and we don't editorialise — every finding here is sourced from the originating body.
HMICFRS PEEL assesses every E&W force on a cycle (currently 2023–25) and grades it on pillars like investigating crime, responding to the public, and protecting vulnerable people. HMICFRS thematic reports address cross-cutting issues (rape, child protection, custody, mental health) that sit above any single force. IOPC investigation outcomes publish the conclusions of serious conduct investigations — the cases that have crossed the public-interest threshold for independent scrutiny.Home Office statistics add the workforce headcount and use-of-force data underneath. Used together, these surfaces describe how UK policing is actually doing.
