Community Guidelines
Ten plain-English rules that keep BlueLineHub a safe, trusted space for everyone who serves.
Unofficial independent resource — always verify with official sources (College of Policing, your force, PFEW).

The Ten Rules
- Be accurate. If you state something as fact — a pay figure, a regulation, a procedure — be sure of it or say you're unsure. Spreading misinformation in a policing community has real consequences.
- Treat people with respect. Disagree with ideas, not people. You can challenge someone's view robustly without attacking them personally.
- Keep operational details off the platform. Don't share tactics, deployment information, surveillance methods, or anything that could compromise operational security or officer safety.
- Do not identify individuals. Don't name, photograph, or link to identifying information about officers, suspects, victims, or anyone else in a way that could put them at risk.
- No hate speech. Content targeting any person or group based on race, sex, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any protected characteristic is not welcome here.
- No threats or intimidation. Don't threaten, intimidate, or attempt to coerce any individual or group — whether in posts, replies, or direct messages.
- Keep welfare conversations kind. If someone is struggling, respond with care. Direct them to the crisis resources pinned in the Welfare category. Do not dismiss mental health disclosures or respond with humour.
- Don't share confidential or leaked documents. This includes force intranets, internal briefings, or anything not in the public domain. Even well-intentioned sharing of this material can cause serious harm.
- No spam or unsolicited promotion. Don't use BlueLineHub to sell products or services, promote external platforms, or post repetitive content. If you have a relevant product or partnership, contact us first.
- Report, don't retaliate. If you see content that breaks these rules, use the report button. Don't respond in kind — escalation makes things worse and can result in your own account being actioned.
Welcome Behaviour
This community is at its best when people:
- Share genuine experiences from their career — promotion journeys, shift patterns, force culture, welfare challenges — without breaching operational confidentiality.
- Help aspiring officers with practical, honest advice about joining, assessment centres, and what the job is really like.
- Challenge incorrect information politely, backing up corrections with a source.
- Signpost colleagues to welfare support, Federation resources, or professional help when they need it.
- Celebrate milestones — promotions, long service, retirement — and support colleagues through difficult times.
- Contribute to pay, pension, and regulation discussions with relevant personal experience, clearly labelled as such.
Not Welcome Here
We have zero tolerance for:
- Naming individuals — officers, suspects, or members of the public — in connection with ongoing investigations or misconduct matters.
- Posting screenshots of force intranets, internal emails, or confidential briefings.
- Mocking officers who come forward about mental health struggles or welfare difficulties.
- “Us vs them” rhetoric targeting colleagues from other forces, departments, or roles.
- Conspiracy theories presented as fact, particularly those involving policing institutions.
- Political campaigning or electioneering for any party or candidate.
If you're unsure whether something crosses a line, don't post it. You can always contact us via the contact page to ask. See our full Moderation Policy for details on enforcement.
