What Gets Removed
BlueLineHub is a community for UK police officers, aspiring officers, and police families. To protect the safety and integrity of this community, the following content will be removed without notice and may result in account action:
- Operational tactics — specific tactics, stop and search deployment strategies, surveillance methods, or any content that could compromise operational effectiveness or officer safety.
- Identifying individuals — naming, photographing, or otherwise identifying officers, suspects, victims, or witnesses in ways that could put them at risk or breach data protection obligations.
- Hate speech — content that targets any person or group on the basis of race, sex, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
- Threats or intimidation — direct or implied threats against any individual or group, including other community members.
- Doxxing — publishing or linking to personal information about any individual without their explicit consent, including home addresses, personal phone numbers, or private social media profiles.
- Misinformation — false claims presented as fact about policing law, pay, procedure, or regulation.
- Spam and commercial promotion — unsolicited promotion of products or services without prior approval from BlueLineHub.
Anonymous Posting
Anonymous posting is permitted in the Welfare and Legal & Rights categories only. We recognise that officers seeking support with mental health, personal crisis, or sensitive employment matters may not feel safe posting under their account identity.
Anonymous posts in these categories are still subject to all other moderation rules. Anonymity is not a licence to post content that would otherwise be removed. We retain server-side records of all posts to meet our legal obligations, but these are not associated with public profiles in anonymous categories.
Anonymous posting is not available in general discussion, career, promotion, or community categories. This is to preserve accountability and trust in those spaces.
Reporting Flow
Any registered user can report a post, reply, or profile using the report button on each piece of content. Reports are reviewed by the moderation team within 24 hours on weekdays and within 48 hours at weekends. For urgent reports — threats of violence, doxxing, or content constituting a potential crime — please also email hello@bluelinehub.co.uk with “URGENT REPORT” in the subject line.
Reports are anonymous — the person being reported will not be told who filed the report. You will receive a notification when your report has been reviewed, though we may not be able to share specific details of the action taken.
Appeals
If your content has been removed or your account has been actioned and you believe this was an error, you may appeal via our contact page. Appeals must be submitted within 14 days of the moderation action. Include your account username, the content or action being appealed, and the reason you believe the decision was incorrect.
Appeals are reviewed by a senior moderator who was not involved in the original decision. We aim to resolve appeals within five working days. The decision of the senior moderator is final.
Ban Tiers
We use a tiered approach to enforcement, proportionate to the severity and frequency of rule violations:
- Warning — issued for a first or minor breach. The content is removed and the user is notified of the violation. No posting restriction is applied.
- Temporary suspension — posting privileges are suspended for 7–30 days depending on severity. Applied for repeat warnings, more serious breaches, or persistent low-level misconduct.
- Permanent ban — the account is permanently removed. Applied for severe violations (doxxing, threats, hate speech, operational security breaches) or following repeated temporary suspensions with no improvement.
Some violations — particularly doxxing, threats of violence, or content constituting a criminal offence — will result in an immediate permanent ban without prior warning. We reserve the right to report such content to the relevant authorities.
