Chronological record of editorial changes, reviews and corrections.
Unofficial independent resource — always verify with official sources (College of Policing, your force, PFEW).
Last verified: May 2026. Older entries will be added retrospectively as historical commit work is captured.
This log exists so anyone reading BlueLineHub can see what changed on the site, when it changed, and why. It complements the corrections policy (which sets the SLA for fixing factual errors) and the editorial policy (which sets review cycles per content category).
We do not log every minor copy edit. We log: new pages, scheduled reviews of YMYL pages, corrections that change meaning, new or removed tools, data refreshes (e.g. pay scales), and policy or framework changes that affect how the site works.

Crime statistics, a postcode "find my police team" finder, and a public "Your Rights" library
A major upgrade turning newly-harvested official data into tools and content. New: a UK recorded-crime league table at /crime-statistics (ranked by offences per 1,000 population, ONS data, with a downloadable CSV) plus a per-force crime dashboard on every force page; a postcode finder at /tools/find-my-police-team that returns your force and nearest neighbourhood policing team; an interactive sentencing-range explorer added to the offence guides using the Sentencing Council's own culpability and harm matrices; a What Works crime-reduction evidence library (/learning/what-works) and CPS prosecution-guidance digests (/legal/cps-guidance). For the public we added a plain-English, fully-cited Police Powers & Your Rights library (/your-rights) covering stop and search, arrest, complaining about the police, and Freedom of Information. A new /data-sources page documents the provenance, licence and refresh date of every dataset we use. We also corrected the per-force crime-rate figures to the official ONS numbers, fixed accountability-report links so several more forces now show their full HMICFRS inspection history, and made a series of technical and accessibility fixes from a full site audit.

Harvest wave 0 — local policing team pages, IOPC reports library, per-force inspection history
First wave of the open-data harvest programme. Three new page families ship today and fill in progressively as the multi-day harvest runs: per-team neighbourhood policing pages under /forces/[force]/neighbourhoods (contact routes, current local priorities and public events for every team, from data.police.uk — around 4,500 teams nationally when complete); a structured IOPC investigation-reports library at /accountability/iopc-reports summarising published reports with findings, recommendations and outcomes; and a per-force HMICFRS inspection-history timeline at /forces/[force]/inspections covering the archive of PEEL, thematic and force-specific reports. All content is summarised from Open Government Licence sources with links back to the original documents.

Round 11 — site search, transfer comparisons, community upgrades, verified officers
Fourteen improvements from the July audit. Site search (Ctrl+K) now covers the full content library — 379 policing-practice topics, 187 offence guides, and every article cluster. New pairwise force-transfer comparisons at /forces/transfer for every pair of territorial forces (1,980 pages) showing pay, cost-of-living, PEEL and process differences. Community: threads can now be edited and deleted by their authors, six editorial starter discussions seeded (clearly labelled), rate limits and content caps added, and error handling hardened. Officers signing in with a force email (police.uk domains) are now automatically verified and gain access to the new officers-only area. Also: related-reading blocks on every article, a page-feedback widget that actually records responses, an officer mortgage & affordability calculator, per-force filtering on the news feed, a new editorial-team page, per-cluster sitemaps, and cross-device sync for the fitness and application trackers when signed in.

Round 8 — Home Office use-of-force disparities + PSNI Federation news + weekly data-refresh cron
Home Office use-of-force statistics (April 2024–March 2025) ingested and rendered on /accountability/use-of-force-disparities as a per-force comparative table joined against workforce headcount, showing incidents per 1,000 officers with a national-median deviation column for 42 forces (national median 5,849). Extended the federation-news aggregator to the Police Federation for Northern Ireland via policefed-ni.org.uk — /news now aggregates 38 items across PFEW, SPF and PSNI Fed. RSS feed at /rss.xml now interleaves Federation news items with blog posts (60 items total, categorised by region). llms.txt + llms-full.txt updated to advertise /news, /recruitment, /learning/topics and the accountability sub-routes. Added a GH Actions cron workflow to refresh federation-news + recruitment weekly and accountability monthly; any data-snapshot diff is auto-committed to trigger a rebuild.

Round 7 — Home Office workforce ingest + SEO landing pages + Coolify watchdog
Ingested the Home Office police workforce ODS to give an authoritative officer + staff headcount for every English & Welsh force (rendered on /forces/[slug]/workforce and /accountability/workforce-by-force). Shipped seven new SEO landing pages targeting high-intent applicant queries (join-police-aged-40-plus, transfer-police-force-after-two-years, police-recruitment-open-forces-2026 and four others). Hand-patched five stale PCC leadership pages caught by the periodic PCC URL refresh. Refactored the sitemap into a manifest → composition pattern so new content clusters plug in cleanly, and added a Coolify queue-watchdog host cron that clears zombie 'in_progress' deployment rows every 5 minutes.

Round 6 — Specialism roles + geographic long-form
Added five specialism role profiles (armed response officer, tactical firearms commander, marine unit, mounted branch, roads-policing), a set of geographic long-form pages covering the largest urban policing centres, and two additional SEO landing pages for high-volume applicant queries.

Round 5 — Federation news feed + glossary integration + PCC refresh
Launched /news — an aggregated feed of Police Federation of England & Wales (PFEW) and Scottish Police Federation (SPF) news, refreshed on a weekly cadence. Integrated the glossary into the acronym-flashcards tool and cross-linked terms into blog + guide pages. Six new high-intent SEO landing pages covering vetting, transfer, medical and interview clusters. Ten stale PCC URLs refreshed via Firecrawl-driven map + scrape; three previously-missing forces recovered.

Round 4 — Per-force PCC + leadership pages
Added per-force Police & Crime Commissioner (or equivalent — Mayor for London/GM, Justice Minister for NI) pages and per-force leadership snapshots for all 47 UK forces. Covers current post-holder, term dates, priorities and official links, refreshed against the primary force sources via Firecrawl. Each page emits Person + BreadcrumbList JSON-LD.

Round 3 — Sentencing Council library + shift-pattern deep dive
Ingested 187 Sentencing Council guidelines and built the /legal/offences library so officers can look up starting-point sentences, aggravating and mitigating factors, and offence-specific procedural notes. Also shipped /police-shift-pattern-explained (a deep dive on the common 4-on-4-off, 6-on-4-off and hybrid patterns officers actually work) and a PCSO-vs-PC comparison page.

Round 2 — APP topic expansion (80 → 379) + accountability uplift
Expanded the /learning/topics library from 80 to 379 pages covering College of Policing Authorised Professional Practice topics — every entry a plain-English explainer with source links back to APP. Added /forces/[slug]/stop-and-search and /forces/[slug]/neighbourhoods routes for every force, senior-rank pay pages (chief inspector, superintendent, chief superintendent), and uplifted the accountability hub with IOPC + HMICFRS thematic-report integration.

Round 1 — Firecrawl data-enrichment pipeline (P0–P6)
Landed the data-enrichment pipeline that powers most later rounds. Shipped: HMICFRS PEEL ratings for 43 forces (/accountability/force-ratings), per-force /forces/[slug]/joining pages for 47 forces, a Police Remuneration Review Body pay audit, a live /recruitment feed of currently-open force campaigns, the /accountability hub with IOPC learnings + HMICFRS thematic-report ingestion, and the first cut of the /learning/topics library (80 pages sourced from College of Policing APP).

SEO Audit Wave 2 — 21 new YMYL content pages
Content gap-fill wave: 21 new deep guides targeting the highest-volume keyword gaps identified by the audit. Pay-by-rank pages for constable, sergeant and inspector (4,800/mo combined search demand). Pensions cluster — root pillar + 2015 CARE + McCloud remedy + retirement planning + calculator guide. Legal — IOPC investigations and the misconduct process (8.1k/mo for 'iopc'). Promotion — CVF explainer, sergeant exam, inspector exam. Operational learning — National Decision Model and caution-wording reference. Joining — JRFT fitness test, PCDA and DHEP entry routes, convictions in vetting. Plus pay sub-pages for overtime and London / South-East allowances. SEO Audit Wave 1 shipped
Site-wide trust and discoverability changes from the SEO audit's first wave: doubled title suffix fixed, the deprecated <meta keywords> tag removed, the verified-officer badge renamed to 'Self-declared police role' with a new /officer-verification page explaining what the badge does and does not mean, the 28 mock forum threads relabelled as editorial seed content, the mock job board replaced with a links-to-official-sources panel, the demo login credentials removed from the sign-in dialog, auth-gated routes set to noindex, hub navigation surfaced on the homepage, /forces directory copy lifted, /robots.txt rewritten with a hybrid AI-bot allowlist, this update log created, the <LastReviewed> component deployed across YMYL pages, and a new <YmylCaveat> component added to pay/pension/legal/medical/wellbeing/recruitment/operational pages.

Phase 13 trust + tools + schema work shipped
Added the AI-use disclosure page, the welfare-banner component for crisis routing, the LastReviewed and YmylCaveat (planned) components, a deterministic content gate and rate limiter for forum posts, anonymous posting on welfare and legal categories, additional schema (Article, BreadcrumbList, FAQPage) on guides, roles, blog and forces, and built five new community sub-routes plus the rejoiner guide.

Newsletter signup wired to Supabase + Resend
Replaced the placeholder newsletter form with a real submission flow that records subscribers in Supabase and sends a confirmation email via Resend. Removed the fabricated 'subscribed count' line from the form.

The homepage counters now derive from the underlying constants (forces, ranks, blog posts, guides, roles, glossary) at build time, rather than the previously hardcoded approximate numbers.
