PEEL (Police Effectiveness, Efficiency and Legitimacy) is HMICFRS's framework for inspecting UK forces. Each force is graded on a 5-point scale: outstanding, good, adequate, requires improvement, inadequate. 43 of 48 forces have a HMICFRS PEEL rating on BlueLineHub. The 4 forces without a rating (Police Scotland, PSNI, BTP and MoD Police) are inspected by different bodies, not HMICFRS.
