Current priorities
Anti-social behaviour (ASB) Swiftly responding to incidents of ASB and effectively using policing powers available to intervene - including powers of dispersal where the actions of individuals or groups impact their wider surroundings; which can lead to wider harm, including the misuse of public spaces or buildings, criminal damage or vandalism, for example graffiti or damage to public buildings.
•Continued work with partners and youth organisations, including schools and colleges to identify opportunities for early intervention with individuals at risk of causing ASB. •Hotspot areas and targeted patrols include areas through The Crouch gardens and The Salts as well as the town centre to deter crime, and identify offenders during the Summer months. •Engagement events continue as an opportunity for residents to raise concerns and highlight areas of ASB direct to officer, all reports help to assist officers in their patrol locations to ensure together we are providing a police presence in areas which have seen an increase in ASB. •Officers also continue to engage with young people to identify those at risk of becoming involved in ASB, providing early support, building positive relationships, and working with partners to divert individuals away from offending behaviour and towards more constructive activities.
