Current priorities

Anti-social behaviour (ASB), and youth related crime and disorder (e.g. youth related ASB, large groups or threatening behaviours) Swiftly responding to incidents of ASB and effectively using policing powers available to intervene - including powers of dispersal where the actions of individuals or groups impact their wider surroundings; which can lead to wider harm, including the misuse of public spaces or buildings, criminal damage or vandalism, for example graffiti or damage to public buildings.

•We continue working alongside partners and youth organisations, including visiting schools to identify opportunities for early intervention with individuals at risk of causing ASB. •Hotspot areas and targeted patrols include areas Landport Park, down into the estate, and up through the Pells area as reported areas of regular ASB, a chance for officers to engage with a number of youngsters. •Officers in Lewes have planned several events over the summer, where they will update residents on work to tackle ASB. These sessions also give residents the chance to share concerns and highlight problem areas, helping officers focus patrols and ensure police presence where it’s needed most.
