Off-road bikes and drug dealing

Although this has been greatly reduced due to proactive policing patrols involving uniform and plain clothes officers it is still a priority as it has the potential to return to previous levels if not managed and acted upon. A number of persons seen riding illegal suron bikes have been reported for driving offences and in some instances the bikes have been seized.

Violent Crime

This remains a priority as although it has reduced over the last 6 months there are still occasional reports of violent crime that can be linked back to the drug supply issues in the area.

Off-road bikes and drug dealing

Another successful partnership operation has taken place between neighbourhood teams and Cardiff councils off-road team. Operation Green Horizon aims to tackle the use of illegal bikes/scooters on green spaces and the highway around Cardiff. Hot spot locations were patrolled and bike seizures were seen across Penylan, Rumney, Llanrumney and Pentwyn. 3 illegal mechanically propelled vehicles (MPVs), 1 suron bike, 2 e-scooters and 1 vehicle was seized during the operation. All will be sent for destruction. On 25th September, an electric motorcycle was seen being ridden into the garden of an address in Heddfan North by officers.
