Current priorities
Anti-Social Behaviour: The Rural North Team has identified an increase in anti-social behaviour (ASB) across parts of their area. This includes: - Use of nitrous oxide (NOS) canisters - Fly tipping - Anti-social use of off-road motorcycles
- Conduct increased high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot areas to deter offending and reassure the community. - Target individuals responsible for ASB through proactive engagement and enforcement. - Take positive enforcement action where sufficient evidence exists. - Work in partnership with local authorities and partner agencies to address fly tipping and environmental concerns. - Develop and gather intelligence to identify repeat offenders and support targeted interventions.
Set: 2026-07-01
Vehicle Related Crime: There has been a slight increase in vehicle-related crime across the Rural North area, including theft from motor vehicles.
- The team will conduct targeted operations across the area to address these issues. - Proactive patrols will be focused on identified hotspot locations and vulnerable areas. - Officers will work to identify offenders through intelligence-led policing. - Enforcement action will be taken where appropriate and sufficient evidence is obtained. - Provide crime prevention advice to residents to reduce opportunities for offending.

Set: 2026-04-01
Bicycle/motorcycle theft
We have seen an increase in reported stolen motorcycles from Ryton-on-Dunsmore and will therefore look to engage with motorcycle owners and provide bike marking and offer crime prevention advice.
Set: 2026-04-01
Off-road/nuisance motorcycles
In response to better weather, we are looking to be proactive in deterring off road/nuisance motorbikes, causing alarm to walkers, dogs and causing environmental damage within the open spaces.
Set: 2026-04-01
Speeding and road safety
In response to our connected survey responses this is the highest issue from our residents. This has been picked form our priorities survey and an issue that is concerning to members of the public. We will look to support and promote Community Speed watch within the rural area as well as conduct some speed monitoring and enforcement and well as education.
Set: 2026-04-01
Anti-social behaviour/NOS canisters
There has bene an increase in occurrences of officers locating discarded Nitrous Oxide canisters which is not only illegal but carried serious risk to the users. We will look to target users of NOS, enforce and educate.
