Current priorities

Shoplifting - Farnham Town Centre. Reports of retail crime have been increasing nationally. Surrey Police have prioritised retail crime and has seen a significant increase in the number of offender identified arrested and charged for offences.

Local officers complete regular patrols of Farnham town liaising with retailers and encouraging reporting of offences. We work closely with neighbouring forces to identify suspects and take positive action to bring them to justice. Recently we have run operations targeting organised shoplifters resulting in a number of arrests and have further operations planned. Covert operations have been completed and have been largely positive in apprehending suspects and building community trust.
