Current priorities
Drugs - Proactive patrols and intelligence gathering are ongoing across the estate. The beat team continues to target those who are known to be dealing and taking illegal drugs.
An individual was recently arrested and found to be in possession of a significant amount of class A drugs after a report was made to police about then acting suspiciously in the community, offices were called to the individuals address where drugs and other materials were located and they were arrested shortly after. Enquires are ongoing and the team are happy that they have been seized and prevented from being dealt in the community.
Set: 2026-07-01
We have been made aware of a number of vehicles parked across the estate which don't have relevant documents, and also e-scooters, bikes and vehicles moving dangerously and in an anti-social manner.
As has been the pattern previously, educating people and ensuring that people have the correct and legal insurance, tax and MOT to drive a vehicle has been the focus at events and surgeries. The team are working hard to deter those choosing to ride dangerous E-Scooters and off road bikes, and officers have been dedicating time to seize these types of vehicle when the opportunity arises. Patrols are set to increase in the Windley Road and Meadow Gardens areas after recent reports of speeding and dangerous bikes being ridden in the open space area.
Set: 2026-07-01
We have been made aware of continued Anti-Social Behaviour in the green spaces across the Freemen beat. Officers will be visiting local schools and reconnecting with businesses on the beat. We are continuing with this priority as the evenings are getting lighter.
Patrols in open spaces and park areas are set to the continue as the Summer Holidays edge closer, there has again been a decrease in the reports in these areas, but issues do tend to increase during the warmer weather. We are happy to report that ASB in the Neston Gardens area has also decreased after a group of youths involved were spoken to after being identified using local CCTV.
