One place to compare all 43 England & Wales forces. Every figure is measured and links to its full source-backed page. Click a column heading to sort. The crime rate per 1,000 (population-adjusted) is the fair comparison; raw officer counts, recorded-crime volume and total funding all scale with force size.

These are the 43 territorial forces of England & Wales. Police Scotland and the PSNI are overseen by different inspectorates and complaint bodies and record crime under different systems, so they are not directly comparable on these measures and are not listed here. Population-based columns exclude the City of London (its ~8,000 residents would distort a per-head figure against a weekday population in the hundreds of thousands). “Complaints per 1,000 officers” is a BlueLineHub calculation and differs from the IOPC per-1,000-employees figure. Logging and recording practices vary between forces.
