Current priorities

Criminal damage.

We are aware of issues involving groups of young people misusing catapults, which have caused damage to property and harm to wildlife. Officers are carrying out patrols in affected areas and working with schools to raise awareness. Where appropriate, young people found with catapults are given educational guidance to help prevent further incidents. We are also working with specialist investigation teams to follow all lines of enquiry in reported offences and identify those responsible.

Set: 2026-04-14

E-scooters/e-bikes.

E‑scooters are illegal to use on public roads and in public places unless part of an approved scheme. Officers are working with schools to raise awareness, particularly among young people. We will continue to educate the public and take action where needed, including seizing and crushing illegal e‑scooters.

Set: 2026-04-14

Nuisance motorcycles.

We are aware of ongoing issues with the use of off‑road bikes. Officers are carrying out regular patrols on foot and in vehicles, using stop and search powers (legal powers to search people for items such as illegal bikes) where appropriate. We continue to work closely with residents and listen to their concerns at community events. Any off‑road bikes being used illegally in public will be seized.
