Current priorities
Speeding in Harpenden and Sandridge remains the number one priority for residents.
• Speed enforcement checks have been conducted in Luton Road, Cravells Road, Lower Luton Road and Station Road in Harpenden, Marford Road, Wheathampstead and Redbourn Road, Redbourn. • Three traffic offence reports have been issued where drivers may be fined, sent on a drivers’ improvement course or summonsed directly to court or excessive speed. • We will continue to go out at different times and days to catch anyone speeding.
Set: 2026-05-20
Anti-social behaviour in local parks, including drinking alcohol, smoking drugs and abusive behaviour.
• We have increased proactive patrols around the parks and worked with partner agencies including Harpenden Town Council. • We have identified a group of young people causing anti-social behaviour in parks and in the town. The Community Safety Unit has sent letters to their parents. • We will continue to monitor, engage and deal with any incidents.
