Current priorities
Anti-social behaviour
We want our neighbourhoods to be a safe place for everyone to live, work, visit and travel to. We know that sometimes this peace can be disturbed. Anti-social behaviour can include any behaviour or incident which causes alarm or distress. This can include issues such as repeated annoyance or nuisance behaviours, or deliberate intimidation. We will use a variety of tactics to prevent and deter these behaviours, and take enforcement action where appropriate. There has been a considerable drop in calls to service around Anti-social behaviour in the month of June. The St Alphege team have been holding regular meetings with businesses affected the most, as well as BID and Touchwood security to continue the partnership working in lowering ASB in Solihull and making it an enjoyable place to visit. The team have also been assisted by student officers from Tally Ho in recent weeks increasing visibility on the Town Centre and gaining valuable experience

Business Crime
Solihull has a large business retail community, and much of that is within the town centre. We recognise the impact which retail crime has on businesses and their employees, and also indirectly to the wider public. We will continue to use a variety of tactics to detect, disrupt and apprehend offenders. Most of this crime is theft, but also relevant is fraud, assault and public order offences. Community protections warnings have been served to shop lifters who have been detained on the scene, banning them from Solihull Town Centre. The continued work by St Alphege officers with the assistance of Solihull BID security catching shop lifters while the crime is being committed is continuing to have a positive impact on business in the area, as we are noticing a drop in thefts. Numerous CPWs have already been handed out and over the months the team, as well as businesses are noticing the benefits of having these criminals banned from Solihull.

Vehicle Theft
The teams collaborative work with security teams in the Town Centre to deter bike thefts is always a priority. Conducting hi-visibility patrols as well as giving advice to vehicle owners when they visit Solihull has seen a drop in this type of crime over the past few months. We will continue this work over the Summer months ensuring Solihull is a safe place to visit and enjoy.
