Newport Pagnell — Neighbourhood Policing Team
Local policing team in the Thames Valley Police area: contact routes, current priorities and public events.
Every neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team. Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency. Neighbourhood Policing teams… Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners. May serve one or several neighbourhoods. Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns. Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer. Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008. Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people. Neighbourhood Policing… Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area. Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities. Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes. From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams. We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners. View Have Your Say summary and flowchart (PDF 40 Kb - opens new window) . Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively. Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention. Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour. Current priorities
Anti-Social Behaviour - We are currently responding to reports of anti-social behaviour across Newport Pagnell, including vehicle nuisance, noise disturbances and youth-related incidents
Officers are carrying out high-visibility patrols and working closely with partner agencies to address concerns and develop long term solutions - there have been targeted letter drops to build an intelligence picture and we are also providing advice through the use of TV Alerts - there will also be CCTV deployed to strategic locations to deter and ultimately catch those responsible

Property Security
We will continue to crime with a focus on burglary, theft of tools equipment, theft of / from motor vehicles and criminal damage. Patrols in key locations will be increased, and we will work closely with the local community to build an intelligence picture. Safeguarding advice will be regularly relayed to affected areas via social media / TV alerts. During OP DROVER (3 day operation), Officers conducted events in NEWPORT PAGNELL, OLNEY and HANSLOPE. 25 bikes were marked, and multiple tool marking kits were handed out. Neighbourhood watch visits were conducted, 7 people were signed up and 238 leaflets delivered. In addition, Trading Standards supported this operation and 6 trade persons were spoken to where no issues were identified. The team will be conducting further bike and tool marking events throughout the summer (so check the events page for more details) to provide people with safety advice on how to look after their homes / property.

Road Safety on Key Routes Around Newport Pagnell
Residents have raised concerns regarding speeding, dangerous driving and traffic related offences, particularly around school zones and busy commuter routes. Officers will conduct speed enforcement, work alongside Community Speedwatch, and take action against drivers who pose a risk to the community. During OP DROVER (3 day operation), Officers conducted multiple speed watches and road safety activities within the rural villages and Newport Pagnell. 5 people were reported for driving offences (careless driving/ no insurance) and 60 speeding tickets were issued. High visibility patrols were completed over the days, to provide a deterrent. Also where communities have raised concerns around Road Safety, these have been fed directly back to the Community Safety team who supported the days of action.
