Current priorities

Speeding

Speeding continues to be a primary concern across our villages. In response, we are actively supporting Community Speed Watch initiatives now operational in Etchingham, Hurst Green, Flimwell, and Ticehurst. CSW work in closely with local officers to monitor safer driving behaviours. Regular enforcement operations are being carried out to address speeding and other motoring offences, reinforcing our commitment to keeping our roads safe.

Set: 2026-06-01

Anti-social behaviour

We are increasing our efforts and focusing on regular police patrols in hot spot areas, identifying those responsible, and addressing their behaviour through various measures such as words of advice, engaging with parents, community surveys, and issuing Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) to mitigate harm.

Set: 2026-06-01

Theft and Burglary

Theft and burglary, particularly targeting tools from vans and outbuildings, remain a key policing priority in the area. We are distributing DNA marking kits to help identify stolen property and deter would-be offenders. Daytime patrols in rural areas are being increased to identify suspicious activity and gather intelligence, while targeted operations during the late evening and early morning hours aim to disrupt and deter theft and cross-border criminal activity. Ongoing crime prevention advice is also being provided to residents, farmers, and local businesses, with a focus on improving security and implementing target hardening measures to reduce vulnerability.
