Current priorities

Drug Harm Reduction Targeting drug related crime in your area through intelligence, enforcement, community reporting and partnership work.

•Police led operations, responding to community reports in targeting known areas of drug use and drug dealing, as well as partnership work around known addresses causing drug harm in your area. •A number of drug related crime arrests and property closures secured in the area, details of those have been published on the Sussex Police website.

Set: 2026-06-01

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) Swiftly responding to incidents of ASB and effectively using policing powers available to intervene - including powers of dispersal where the actions of individuals or groups impact their wider surroundings; which can lead to wider harm, including the misuse of public spaces or buildings, criminal damage or vandalism, for example graffiti or damage to public buildings. (criminal damage (e.g. arson, damage to bus stops, vehicles or buildings within the community))

•Enhanced patrols across areas of Summerdown and Saffrons continue, with your named PCSOs conducting high visibility patrols of local parks and open spaces. •Following up reports of criminal damage as a result of ASB, and working alongside youth officers and local schools to identify opportunities for early intervention with individuals at risk of causing ASB.

Set: 2026-06-01

Operation Downsway Our yearly campaign to address community concerns around road and driving related offences that fall into the fatal 5 driving offences.

•Additional patrols, educational and enforcement activities focused on targeting excess speed, distracted driving, as well as drink/drug driving. •Continued work with partners, local authorities, including volunteer Community Speed Watch Groups to support activities and keep the roads of your area safe for all road users.
