Current priorities
Increased theft from shops and concerns regarding threats / violence towards retail staff
The local policing team continue to perform regular proactive patrols and engagement with the local business community increasing confidence and partnership working and intelligence sharing. Repeat offenders are being robustly targeted, using anti-social behaviour legislation where appropriate and a shoplifter has been charged and issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order. Ongoing policing operations continue in the town, both overt and covert targeting ongoing retail crime.
