Current priorities
Tackling anti-social behaviour and drug use.
There has been a recent house closure for a period of three months at a known address where drug use and dealing was taking place. We are working in conjunction with the Environmental Health Department within the Local Authority to improve the conditions of this particular property and the immediate surroundings which have been having a detrimental effect on the local community. We will continue to monitor this address for a period of three months and consider prosecution for any person believed to be in breach of the court order. There has recently been a number of drug warrants carried out in this area where a significant amount of Class A and Class B drugs were seized along with several arrests made. Suspects in this matter remain under investigation with a view to prosecute for drug supply.

This has also involved local officers engaging with petrol stations schools and joint visits with local housing officers to address problem properties.

Preventing and disrupting drug offences.
Local residents have expressed concerns over drug use in the local neighbourhood. Our local officers are working hard to collate intelligence which allows us to action Warrants and work with the council regarding tenancy of offenders. If you suspect illegal drug use in your local area, we encourage members of the public to report this to police using 101, the online reporting system or Crimestoppers. We will work with partners to support persons where possible but will also look to disrupt and be robust regarding repeat offenders.
