Ford Green & Smallthorne — Neighbourhood Policing Team
Local policing team in the Staffordshire Police area: contact routes, current priorities and public events.
Ford Green Road, locally known as ‘Smallthorne Bank’, runs through the centre of this residential community which is made up of numerous streets packed with terraced homes. At the junction of Ford Green Road and High Lane there are a series of three roundabouts which are a significant landmark on many people’s journeys in the area. At the bottom of Smallthorne Bank you will find the large open areas provided by Ford Green Nature Reserve and the tutor building ‘Ford Green Hall’.

Current priorities
Anti-social behaviour (ASB), looking specifically at off-road bikes.
Off-road bikes on the nature reserve and groups of youths at local restaurants/stores continues to be a focus. The use of Section 59 notices and Community Protection Warnings/Notices have been, and continue to be, used to tackle this unacceptable behaviour.

Anti Social Behaviour
This has been identified as an area historically high in serious violence and as such, is an area dedicated for patrols using government funding with officers carrying out foot patrols in the worst affected streets. Other locations have been identified for ASB mainly from gathering youths and other areas have been targeted for patrols by PCSOs in support of youth provision for the area.
