Audley & Halmerend — Neighbourhood Policing Team

Local policing team in the Staffordshire Police area: contact routes, current priorities and public events.

All Staffordshire Police neighbourhoods

The parishes of Audley and Halmerend cover a number of former mining villages and neighbouring the small hamlet of Alsagers Bank. A strong community spirit ensures there is always a coffee morning or village event happening. The villages pride themselves on sports with Audley having three cricket clubs and its own football club. The area also has historical buildings including St James Church that pre-dates the 14th century. Both villages are within easy access of the main road networks and only within a few miles from the M6 motorway.

Current priorities

Ongoing nuisance/dangerous parking, specifically around Church Street.

Parking restrictions are already in place and used by officers to issue tickets, and the use of CCTV/photographic evidence allows us to follow-up with offending vehicles. Police will patrol the area and address any dangerous parking or obstruction offences. Joint working with local authority to address more generic parking issues. Monitoring continues into Summer 2026 to understand concerns within the community.

Set: 2026-03-02

Increase in vehicle crime which is a combination of theft of motor vehicles, theft from motor vehicles, and damage to vehicles.

Policing patrols underway to monitor, identify and deter these issues. 29 incidents noted since March 2026. Neighbourhood Policing patrols continue to monitor, deter and address this issue.
