Current priorities
We work with the community and local partners, as well as looking at our own data to come up with priorities that we will have for Thetford for the next three months: Tackling rural crime and antisocial behaviour across Thetford
In Thetford town centre the focus has been on tackling street drinking and antisocial behaviour . A number of street drinkers have been dispersed in Thetford town centre, some have been issued with Community Protection Notices and Warnings. One was arrested for breaching a community order and charged to court, another arrested for breaching bail conditions and charged to court. Two teens have been interviewed in connection with criminal damage in the town and given bail conditions not to return to the town centre. Several stop searches carried out. A group of youths were seen causing issues in the town centre, all were juveniles so were taken home and left with a responsible adult. One e-scooter seized for no insurance and a dirt bike seized during patrols of Barnham Cross Common (no licence or insurance). Neighbourhood officers have also carried out engagements at Thompson Primary, a careers fair at Charles Burrell Centre, livestock worrying action day, a forestry partnership meeting, Op Foxtail with roads policing colleagues and library and supermarket drop-ins.
