Current priorities
Violence with injury and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) is a corporate, MPS wide priority.
Sydenham is no longer an emerging violence hotspot. In response to the emerging hotspot SNT enacted and enforced a Closure Order in one of the areas affected by violence over the summer. At the time of writing a closure order was enforced on an address of note and has been shut down reducing offences within the area. SNT officers will increase patrols in the specific areas identified where offences have occurred to gather information to inform targeted stop and search action, and potential warrants.

Anti-Social Begging on Sydenham High Street
Sydenham SNT aim to reduce the amount of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) related to begging on Sydenham High Street. This is being caused by persistent begging on Sydenham Road and rough sleepers and drug users congregating outside shops. This will be measured by keeping an internal record of the number of people seen begging when on shift, and requests received to move people on from outside shops. To date the team have closed down an associated address which has reduced crime. Further addresses are being monitored. Stop and searches within the area have resulted in numerous arrests. The team are working closely with the affected shops in the High Street.
