Current priorities

Now that the nights are lighter and the weather is improving , there has been a rise in reported youth ASB. Specific concerns have been raised in the following areas: Colne: North Valley Road Retail Park – Nuisance, Nelson: Walverden Park - Nuisance, Newfield road – Drugs ASB, McDonalds – Nuisance Brierfield: Tunstill Square – Nuisance, Bowling green & Park – Nuisance, Heyhead Park - Nuisance Fence: The Forest Car Park Cuckstool Lane - Drugs

Engagement is the first step in tackling ASB – and when this fails the police will utilise other methods where appropriate such as – Taking home to parents Youth Referrals Stop Searches Arrest This is a team effort and all of Pendle Neighbourhood are to be involved targeting these areas

Anti-social Behaviour (including shoplifting), Op Prosper (Clear Hold Build), Road Safety

We are tackling antisocial behaviour with high visibility foot patrols on evening shifts, and Officers continue to work hard to identify problem youths with both engagement and enforcement. We have completed a Shoplifting operation, however the best practices from this operation will continue indefinitely Several drugs warrants have been executed and engagement with schools and religious settings are ongoing.. Working with Lancashire Road Safety Partnerships, we have increased enforcement on certain local roads with ongoing issues.
