Current priorities
A top priority identified by Rossall ward residents through Lancashire Talking is currently: Dog Fouling
Dog Fouling – Time to Take Action Dog fouling continues to be one of the most frequent concerns raised by residents, and it’s easy to see why. It’s unpleasant, unhygienic, and creates a poor environment for everyone using our parks, pavements, and public spaces. No one should have to navigate their way around dog mess in our communities. Wyre Borough Council is the authority responsible for dealing with dog fouling on public land, and they have a number of measures in place to manage and reduce the problem. This includes: • Investigating reports of dog fouling. • Issuing Fixed Penalty Notices to those who fail to clean up after their dog. • Patrolling problem areas to deter offending. • Putting up signage and providing waste bins. • Running education campaigns to promote responsible dog ownership. However, enforcement alone isn’t enough — public information is vital. If you witness someone not cleaning up after their dog, please report it. The more detail you can provide, the more effectively the Council can take action. Useful information includes: • Time, date, and exact location of the incident. • A description of the person and the dog. • Vehicle details, including registration, if relevant. Reports can be made directly to Wyre Borough Council using the link below: https://orlo.uk/mmE5 In some cases, enforcement may go as far as court proceedings, and having witnesses willing to support the process makes a real difference. By reporting incidents and encouraging responsible behaviour, we can help keep Wyre’s parks, pathways, and public spaces clean, safe, and pleasant for everyone.

Nuisance motorbikes, E-bikes and E-scooters are one of the top priorities you have also raised to us through Lancashire Talking.
Nuisance Motorbikes, E-Bikes, E-Scooters Over the last year, our teams have focused on the issues that matter most to the community, and this includes one of the most complained about issues, E-Bikes and E-Scooters. Having devised an operation to specifically tackle anti-social behaviour involving off‑road motorbikes, e‑bikes, e‑scooters and adapted pedal cycles, we have seized and destroyed over 1000 E-bikes in Lancashire, which is a significant number aimed at tackling this community concern. We have drawn up plans for a pioneering educational awareness course for young riders and their parents/guardians which will highlight the significant risks to themselves and other road users when they are being used illegally and in a dangerous and anti-social manner. The success of this operation has been recognised nationally with other forces making contact with Lancashire to learn from our best practice and the team being nominated for the National Problem-Solving Awards. What are the rules? You can ride an electric bike, or an 'electrically assisted pedal cycle' (EAPC), without a license or insurance if you're 14 or over. An electric bike: * must have pedals that you can use to propel it * can have more than two wheels, for example a tricycle * must have an electric motor that can run continuously at a maximum power of no more than 250 watts * must have no electrical assistance once you reach 15.5 miles per hour (mph) If your electric bike fails to meet any of these requirements it needs to be taxed and insured as either a motorcycle or a moped.

Rossall Ward residents have also highlighted burglary as a concern.
Burglary We are very aware burglary can have a significant impact on victims, both financially and emotionally. As well as losing items of value, some of which could be personal or irreplaceable, victims may feel a violation of security and distress that someone unknown has been in their home. Op Defender is the forcewide name given to tackling residential burglaries in Lancashire and sets out specific expectations for officers. Op Defender equips officers with targeted and proactive patrol plans and seeks to prevent crime from happening in the first place so we can effectively safeguard our residents. As well as prevention, this campaign is about ensuring the best possible response for burglary victims and continuing to ensure our victims feel and are supported throughout the investigation. The last 3 years has also seen a steady decline in reported burglary offences across Wyre.
