Road safety.
Local officers are aware of the ongoing car meets and associated reckless driving at Hewitts Roundabout. The Roads Policing Unit is carrying out targeted enforcement activity to deter and disrupt these gatherings, while local officers continue to work with the local authority and National Highways to explore measures that will make the location less attractive for this type of activity. Enforcement action has already been taken, with police issuing a number of penalty notices for dangerous parking on the roundabout. Sevenoaks District Council has also issued Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) fines to drivers involved. This remains a priority for the local policing team, and officers will continue to tackle unsafe driving and nuisance vehicle activity. Residents are encouraged to report any concerns or information to the police, as this helps direct patrols and enforcement activity.
