This Safer Neighbourhood area covers Unstone and the northern part of the rural area including the villages of Appleknowle, Barlow, Holmesfield, Cutthorpe, Old Brampton, West Handley and Millthorpe as well as the smaller hamlets. It belongs to the North East Local Policing Unit. The area consists of large expanses of rural landscape with a number of small villages and hamlets. Agriculture and leisure form the main industry.

1. Road Safety Issues Inc speeding outside Penny Acre School, Holmesfield, Main Road Holmesfield approaching Rutland Arms 2. Fly tipping - In rural locations including Unstone/ Apperknowle and Owler Bar area Holmesfield 3. ASB, in Woodland areas, including Holmesfield Woods and Shillito Wood other areas
1. Officers using Speed gun for enforcement action and increased enforcement sessions in hot spot locations. Ongoing piece of work with DCC and Holmesfield NHW and Parish Council to make changes to road layout. Education checks with local youth groups 2. Continue to work closely with NEDDC hotspot locations 3. High visibility patrols after school times/school holidays, joint visits with Woodland trust and improved signage and joint work with rural crime. Continuation of rural project visiting rural properties and farms to deliver crime prevention information and when suitable joint visits with rural crime linked with relevant campaigns such as sheep worrying etc
