Current priorities
Theft from outbuildings and sheds Speeding and nuisance motorbikes Parking
Shed & outbuilding breaks After the rise in offences in March this year, we haven’t received any reports of breaks to sheds/outbuildings in the past 3 months which is a success although as always we want to remind residents to report any suspicious activity on 999 or 101 at the time. Actions • Officers will be conducting regular patrols of the Valley during and performing proactive vehicle and person stops • Officers will be holding more Property Marking Events so residents are able to secure their possessions Speeding & Nuisance motorbikes This remains the highest concern amongst residents throughout the whole area. Actions • Officers to enforce the speed limits across The Valley • To take pro-active enforcement where possible • Officers will also work with Roads Policing Unit and Rural Crime unit and carry out safe drive operations in the area Parking With summer here the increase in visitors to the area is noticeable, although will feel the issues with parking are better than previous years with reports down. Most parking violations tend to be the responsibility of the councils Parking Enforcement Team and they can be contacted directly on 01629 533190. Actions • Officers will work closely with partner agencies to ensure that The Hope Valley remains a safe and accessible place to live and visit. • Officers will conduct patrols in the affected areas to advise motorists and enforce the road traffic act 1988.
