Chesterfield Town Centre — Neighbourhood Policing Team
Local policing team in the Derbyshire Constabulary area: contact routes, current priorities and public events.
This Safer Neighbourhood area includes Chesterfield Town Centre. It is covered by the Chesterfield South Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team and belongs to the Chesterfield Local Policing Unit. Chesterfield is the largest town in the administrative county of Derbyshire. The town centre neighbourhood area consists of the retail centre of the town, boasting a wide variety of shops and retail outlets and a large open air market dating back to at least 1165. The town's skyline is dominated by the famous crooked spire of the church of St Mary and all saints. As this is the commercial centre of the town, there are very few residential properties in the area. Queens Park is located on the southern edge of the area, the park opened in 1893. It was recently refurbished, with help from a lottery fund grant.

Current priorities
1.Retail Crime 2.Street Drinking 3. Unauthorised vehicle access into the Town centre
1.Retail crime remains a key challenge. Officers will conduct plain clothes operations, support ShopWatch, target repeat offenders, and build Criminal Behaviour Orders. Shop security reviews will help identify further prevention opportunities. 2.Officers will work with outreach teams, enforce PSPO conditions, and increase patrols at key times. Intelligence will be gathered from local businesses to support ongoing problem solving. 3.The safer neighbourhood team will work alongside partners in the council and licensing to ensure the pedestrianised area of the Town Centre is not accessible by unauthorised vehicles which present a real danger to pedestrians.
