Local policing team in the Derbyshire Constabulary area: contact routes, current priorities and public events.

All Derbyshire Constabulary neighbourhoods

This Safer Neighbourhood area covers Belper Town. It belongs to the Amber Valley Local Policing Unit. Belper is a small, attractive market town within the Amber Valley Borough Council area and is situated eight miles north of Derby. The River Derwent and A6 trunk road run along the western edge of the town. The railway makes an interesting feature in the town centre as its bridges were built by George Stevenson.

Current priorities

1. Anti-Social Behaviour on Parks Estate, Belper 2. Nuisance vehicles at Alport Heights 3. Speeding vehicles on Kilburn Road, Kilburn

1. Increase patrols within the area, engage with the young people involved in anti-social behaviour. Work alongside our youth engagement team to deliver inputs in schools, educating the young people around the impact anti-social behaviour has on victims and the community. Signpost young people to diversionary activities taking place in the area and issue anti-social behaviour letters to those found engaging in anti-social behaviour. Consideration to be given for other suitable disposals where necessary, such as Acceptable Behaviour Contracts, Immediate Justice. 2. Increase patrols within the area, build an intelligence picture to identify those involved. Positive action to be taken using our section 59 and section 165 powers where appropriate. Work alongside our drone unit if appropriate. 3. Complete speed checks within the location, work alongside our partners in Crest and our Community Speed Watch groups. Educate drivers around the dangers of speeding and take enforcement action where appropriate.
