There are increasing reports of youths or young people who are driving cars without either licence or not in accordance with their licence. The cars are in some cases uninsured, untaxed and are not road legal i.e. with no MOT. They are driving around the area sometimes with several other people who are of a same or similar age. We are aware youths are either purchasing cars for a low price on facebook or taking parents cars in the middle of the night. We are encouraging parents to have conversations with their young people around the dangers of this behaviour, and we are asking members of the public to report any suspicious activity, driving or sightings that maybe linked.

Action has been taken on this priority as individual cases of this issue has arisen on a case by case basis. Due to the potential for serious negative effect on our community from this issue, we will continue to keep this as a priority, although reports have lessened over this period. Please report any issues or intelligence around this issue so that we can take positive action.
