Current priorities

Our focus for Summer will be reducing crime within our communities and to engage with our many visitors. We will continue to look for opportunities to educate our communities about how to keep yourself safe from Fraud by speaking to groups and individuals. We will be visiting and patrolling local beauty spots to remind visitors not to leave valuables in their unattended vehicles. There will be pop up police posts in villages offering contact and bike registering. Look out for events to be advertised !!!

Minehead, Williton and Exmoor PCSO’s will be at Dunster Fair on 29th July! Please come along and say hello! We will be registering bikes, giving out crime reduction information and hopefully enjoying a great day out with our communities and many visitors. Hope to see you there!!!

If you are concerned about someone who may be drink/drug driving or dealing drugs in your community, you can report your concerns by ringing 101/999 (if urgent) , via Crimestoppers online or by ringing 0800555111. You can remain anonymous and your information may save a life. Any information, no matter how small may help to build the bigger picture and inform our officers of the areas to patrol and target.

We’ll be carrying out enhanced patrols and roadside checks during England’s FIFA Men’s World Cup matches this month as part of Operation Limit, a national campaign targeting drink and drug drivers. Op Limit supports our ongoing commitment to reducing the number of people killed or seriously injured on Avon and Somerset’s roads through targeted enforcement and engagement activity. Officers will be on patrol before and after England’s group stage matches, focusing on known hotspot locations, responding to reports of suspected intoxicated drivers and carrying out roadside checks. If you have any information regarding suspected drunk/drug driving, please report via 101 (non urgent) , via the Avon and Somerset website, via Crimestoppers online or by ringing 0800555111.
